School starts at 8.50. Most children arrive to school by taxi or mini bus provided by the school transport services. Staff meet children at the side entrance to the school. Children are encouraged to be as independent as possible finding their way to their classrooms. Support is given for those who need assistance. Some parents transport their own children to school. Where possible, they are encouraged to use the side entrance. Parents of Early Years and Rabbits class may bring their children to the classrooms. As children move up to primary classes they are encouraged to go to classrooms with support staff or independently

Registration is between 8.50 and 9.20. During this time children are encouraged to work on independence skills, being responsible for their home school diaries, drinks bottles, coats and bags. Children are also given the opportunity to say what they would like for dinner. There is always a good choice – see menu

Lessons begin at 9.20 with a mid morning break at 11.00. There is another lesson from 11.15 to 12.10.

The lunch break is 12.10 to 1.15. Younger children will be given time to prepare for their lunch with their lessons finishing at aprox 12.00. These children eat in quiet environments in either Rabbits, Early Years or the Life Skills classrooms. The rest of the school eat in the main dining room. Children are well supervised by lunchtime assistants and support assistants. Training and advice is given by speech and language therapist in feeding techniques .

There are two playgrounds one for younger children outside rabbits class and the main playground. There are a number of lunchtime clubs. These include boccia , wheelchair football and reading club.

The afternoon sessions run from 1.15 to 3.15. On Friday we have a final assembly. Each class has a turn at hosting the assembly, with all classes contributing to assemblies. Parents are always welcome to attend when it is their child’s turn to host an assembly.

At 3.20 transport collect children from the side entrance. Children are closely supervised until they are escorted to their taxi or minibus
