British Values

At Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy we are dedicated to ensuring our pupils flourish in all aspects of their learning. A vital part of this is in promoting and reinforcing British values throughout the academy.

The government set out its definition of British Values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy as:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

At TWOA these values are embedded into all aspects of school life from the curriculum to the policies we adopt.

Please see our British Values Statement on our ‘Policies and Privacy Notices’ page for more information as to how we do this in our academy.
