Although our pupils come from all over Suffolk we think it is important for our pupils to gain a sense of the local community around the school and connect with the local facilities and residents that live there. Our links with our sister school – Ormiston Endeavour Academy have benefitted pupils from both academies over the years, offering a host of learning and enrichment opportunities in the arts, sports and careers. We link with other local schools too, providing opportunities for their pupils to develop skills and knowledge in our specialist setting through work experience and volunteering placements. Please contact Amanda Jebb, our coordinator for Volunteers and Work Experience placements if you are interested in volunteering or carrying out a work experience placement at school. Getting out and about in our local community is an important part of our curriculum and we are well-known in the local shops, cafes, the local sports centre and the local church. Whilst our pupils benefit considerably from these links, we are always seeking opportunities for our pupils to give back to their local community in real and purposeful ways. Consequently, pupils have been involved in a range of community-based social action projects from bulb-planting and food banks to litter-picking and fund-raising. Please contact Laura Goodfellow, our Enrichment Lead if you would like to link with us in this way. [email protected].
