Our current Local Governing Body consists of 9 members, in addition to the Co-Principals Helen Dickenson and Emily Webster.

Sue is our Sponsor Governor. She is also our Vice Chair of Governors, Chair or the Finance and General Purposes Committee, Careers Link Governor and SEND Governor. She has had many years of experience in the field of special educational needs. Her roles have included: educational consultant, headteacher of a special school and CEO of a local charity which supports young people with additional needs.
Lynne is our Chair of Governors. She is also the Safeguarding Governor, SEND Governor, PSHE Link Governor and Chair of the Well-Being Committee. She has been involved with the school for many years as a parent of a former pupil. She has a background in nursing.
Sam is our Link Governor for numerous areas across the school. These include STEM, Enrichment and Sensory. She is also a SEND Governor. She was formerly a parent governor and remains on the Governing Body as a Community Governor. Sam worked for BT as a systems designer for 21 years. She is very involved in her local church and the academy’s PTA.
Theresa is a Staff Governor and SEND Governor. She has worked at the academy for a number of years as a Special Support Assistant.
Jack is a Parent Governor and a member of the Wellbeing Committee. Jack is a father to two girls and three boys, one of which has recently joined Thomas Wolsey. He is keen to learn more about the world of special needs, which is why he decided to become a Governor. He works in deliveries for a large chain store but when he’s not at work he likes to spend time with the family having days out and the occasional UK holiday.
Megan currently teaches Secondary pupils and is pastoral teacher of Redshanks class. Megan has worked at the school in a range of roles including SSA and cover supervisor, as well as teacher. Last year Megan introduced the Duke of Edinburgh to the academy and has provided this opportunity to Year 10 pupils, enabling our first cohort to achieve their Bronze Award last summer.
Nansi is a member of both our Wellbeing Committee and Finance and General Purposes Committee. She is one of our Community Governors. Nansi is Link Governor for PD across the school. This important area of school life includes Physiotherapy, Swimming, and gross and fine motor skills. Nansi is taking over the role of Safeguarding and LAC Governor. She has had a varied career, including working within the fields of scientific research and corporate lending within the City of London. Nansi retired in December 2023 after 20 years of teaching within the Primary phase as an accredited Primary Maths specialist and SENDCO. She is also the legal guardian for her brother who has complex learning disabilities.
Anna is a Community Governor and a member of the Wellbeing Committee. She is Link Governor for Reading, Literacy, and Enrichment.
